The John and Willie Leone Family Department of Energy and Mineral
Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University invites nominations and
applications for an innovative, visionary leader as Department Head. The
Department is interdisciplinary, diverse, and dedicated to the safe, efficient,
and environmentally responsible recovery, processing, and utilization of earth
resources. It is internationally recognized for its research in the areas
of energy, energy business and finance, and environmental science and
engineering. The successful candidate should have an exceptional record
of scholarship, previous academic or professional leadership, be qualified for
appointment with tenure, be committed to promoting the interdisciplinary nature
of the department, be dedicated to increasing the diversity of our faculty and
students, and be supportive of College-wide initiatives. Women and
members of under-represented groups are strongly encouraged to apply. A
wide spectrum of graduate and undergraduate degree programs cover the whole
life cycle of energy and mineral resources, including Energy, Business and
Finance; Energy Engineering; Energy Management and Policy; Environmental Health
and Safety Engineering; Environmental Systems Engineering; Fuel Science; Mining
Engineering; Mining and Mineral Process Engineering; Petroleum and Natural Gas
Engineering; and an online program in Energy and Sustainability Policy.
The Department has 31 faculty members, 121 graduate students, and 1388
undergraduate students, and sponsored research of more than $6M.
