GEORGE MASON UNIVERSITY - GEOLOGIST


The Department of Atmospheric, Oceanic, and Earth Sciences invites applications for a one year, full-time, term faculty position in geology starting August 17, 2015. We seek a dynamic educator with teaching expertise in geology and earth science. The successful candidate will be expected to have excellent teaching and organizational skills, a dynamic and welcoming personalit y, to participate in undergraduate program management, and to engage students using innovative technology. Teaching duties will be at the undergraduate level including: physical geology and/or historical geology and potentially upper level classes, such as Field Mapping Techniques. A Ph.D. in geology or related fields with teaching experience is preferred, but exceptional candidates with a M.S. in geology with at least 5 years of college-level teaching experience will be considered. Degrees and experience are required by the start date.


The Department offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in Geology and the Earth Sciences and a Ph.D. in Climate Dynamics.
